Printed Journals Collection
The Library of the School of Health Sciences holds a rich collection of printed journals in both Greek and foreign languages, which mainly cover the disciplines of the School of Health Sciences.
For most of the foreign journals, electronic access is provided through the participation of NKUA in the Hellenic Academic Libraries Link (HEAL-Link). This prompted the discontinuance of subscriptions to the printed versions. NKUA provides through HEAL-Link, online access to approximately 10.000 journal titles, covering a broad range of disciplines.
Various information on NKUA past or current subscriptions, mainly for printed but for electronic journals as well (titles, years of subscription, volumes, issues, etc.) is offered through the OPAC catalog. For any journals known to be available electronically, a URL is also provided.
Search for a journal in the OPAC catalog:
- Log in to the OPAC catalog
- Select the "Journal Search" tab.
- At the search field provided, enter search terms or the journal title and press the "Search" button.
It is recommended to enter search terms in lowercase letters, to avoid accented letters and to omit the article of the journal title, if any, i.e. "journal of" instead of "The journal of". The use of an asterisk (*) is suggested to be used as a wildcard symbol that widens the search. For instance, if you search the term librar* you will acquire variations of the term such as library, libraries, librarian etc.
