ELECTRONIC JOURNALS - SUBSCRIPTIONS
The Library of the School of Health Sciences of NKUA provides online access to journal subscriptions by HEAL-Link or through subscriptions to full text databases.
Electronic journals subscribed by Heal-Link
NKUA provides through HEAL-Link, online access to approximately 10.000 journal titles, covering a broad range of disciplines. Heal-Link provides:
- List of electronic journals subscribed by Heal-Link: Heal-Link offers access to the electronic journals with active subscriptions
- Nature journal: Access to this journal title is given through Heal-Link for the years 1869 - 2006 and 2015 - today.
- New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM) & NEJM Evidence: Starting in December 2025, all HEAL-Link members have access to the journal (access period from 1990 to the present), which is the most trusted source of cutting-edge medical knowledge and best clinical practices, contributing to shaping the future of medicine, informing healthcare policies worldwide, and advancing patient care. NEJM keeps healthcare professionals at the forefront of medical knowledge, promotes a broad understanding of the most essential developments in all areas of medicine, and offers engaging and innovative methods for refining clinical skills and expanding medical expertise.
- Publishers and Heal-Link services: Heal-Link provides a list with the publishers un-der contract (a link is available for browsing articles or journal titles in each publish-er’s database).

HEAL-Link unified search engine: Users can browse material simultaneously in specific databases of Heal –Link(i.e. online journals, e-books and publishers).
De Gruyter electronic journals collections
Under an agreement with De Gruyter, HEAL-Link has acquired access to more than 340 peer-reviewed journal titles in various disciplines including social sciences, humanities, science, engineering, technology and medicine.
More specifically, HEAL-Link memebers have access to the following journal collections:
NKUA Electronic Publishing System (e-Pub)
The Electronic Publishing System (widely known as e-Pub) of the NKUA Library and Information Centre hosts scientific journals produced, published or edited by NKUA (or one of its departments) as well as journals with secured copyrights for being included in the system (journals with discontinued publication may be included in the system for reasons of historical completeness and importance).

TITLE SEARCH SERVICES
BrowZine: a unified service for accessing journals
BrowZine service by Third Iron is an alternative way of accessing online journals accessible via respective agreements with publishers or via databases containing them. (NKUA or HEAL-Link subscriptions.) Search options include searching by subject, title or ISSN.
Browzine acts supplementary to the A-Z e-resources search via Summon, since it includes all journals reported in it.

Additionally, the service is offered as an application for smartphones or tablets, bearing the same features mentioned above:
- Install BrowZine application for Android, iOS or Kindle from Google Play Store, Apple App Store or Amazon App Store (if you were using the app via the open access library you must delete it and reinstall it).
- If you are connected to the NKUA network, open the app, select National and Kapodistrian University of Athens from the list of libraries provided and click continue.
- You may now use the app, searching journals by subject, title or ISSN.
Publication Finder Service (via EBSCOhost)
This is a navigation and search service (alphabetical Α-Ζ) on e-resources on title level (books and journals) via the EBSCOhost platform, in all periodical publications and books included in bibliographic databases, in collections or individually, that either belong to EBSCO or have been designated as research resources in the EBSCO Discovery Service (EDS), and are included in NKUA subscriptions directly or via HEAL-Link.
- Search titles using keywords included in the title, subject or ISSN.
